The Miravalles volcano is the highest of the Guanacaste mountain range. The volcano is considered active with secondary activity. The mud pots, steam vents sulfur lagoons are present on its slope. Driving to the attractions the pipes from the geothermal energy plant will capture your attention. Yes, the government is using the volcanoes activity to generate electricity.
Miravalles visit includes a hike on the waterfalls rainforest trail and then continue to the hotsprings and volcanic mud area. A traditional lunch will be served on the site.
